General Review-Writing Guidelines

Hotrodders values your comments!

So do other readers. Therefore, before you compose your review, please take a moment to consider what you might include to maximize its appreciation by others. Please be aware that we have adopted a 100-line (roughly 1,000 word) maximum on submitted reviews. The recommended length is 10 to 20 lines.

What to include:

Your comments should focus on the company's ability to live up to their implied promises for their products, in regard to fit, performance expectations, and available technical assistance. The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a given company (or product), but also why. Feel free to mention other products you consider similar, and how this item rates in comparison to them. Comments that are not specific to the item being reviewed will not be posted on our site.

What not to include:

Resist the temptation to comment on other reviews or features visible on the page. Please limit yourself to one comment (review) per product. This information (and its position on the page) is subject to change without notice. While we appreciate your time and comments, we respectfully request that you refrain from including the following in your review:

  • Profanity, obscenities, or spiteful remarks.
  • Single-word reviews. Other readers want to know why you liked or disliked the product.
  • Phone numbers, mail addresses, URLs.
Any review in violation of these guidelines may not be posted.
