bought the set to fit V-8 vega swap, absolutely do not fit.wish i could leave no stars, sandersons attitude is basically "f*ck you, we got your money already". i will NEVER buy anything from sanderson again, and tell everyone i know thats looking for headers not to buy from them. we buy hedman all the way from now on, they rock, they fit, and the company reps are awesome !

3.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.0   OK product
Reviewer: Irelands child from Upstate NY     January 11, 2007
I'm using a Ford 5.0L with GT 40 heads that have different plug angle then others. After trying several other brands, I found these were the only ones that would clear the plug. The Sanderson's fit, but had problems with header bolts and ended up using a great product - Breslin Fasteners.

I'm happy that I didn't buy their ceramic coated version as I had to spend several hours internally cleaning up welds and pieces of mig wire tag ends that were hanging in the exhaust gas stream.

The gaskets they supplied were a laugh - you need the doughnuts with this version - also the companion flange (for the head pipe) is puny and mine have distorted and hopefully will continue to seal.

There are better products for less money for most engines - and if these don't last, I can only hope that someone has made a set for my engine since I bought them - because the next ones wont be Sanderson's even if someone has to build a custon set for me.

Donna, the co-owner(owner?) is a poor customer service rep.

Ive just recieved a set of ceramic coated full length big block chevy headers for my 32 ford hot rod, the service over the phone when i ordered was excelent, they fit perfectly, the finish was very good and the overall quality was above my expectations. the delivery was however not the fastest.... i would recomend ordering in good time, but reading the other rewievs it would seem that i either got lucky, or that they got a grip on it

ORDERED HEADERS FOR MY UNCLES 66 MUSTANG. SALES PERSON INDICATED THAT THE HEADERS I NEEDED WERE
IN STOCK AND COULD BE DELIVERED RIGHT AWAY VIA FED EX. SHIPPING TO HAWAII FROM CALIFORNIA VIA
AIR FREIGHT USUALLY TAKES LESS THAN A WEEK, THE HEADERS TOOK OVER A MONTH TO ARRIVE. THE LADY THAT
ANSWERS THE PHONE WAS NOT PLEASANT AND SEEMED TO NOT CARE OF OUR PREDICAMENT. I FELT THAT SHE
DIDNT CARE BECAUSE WE WERE SO FAR FROM THE MAINLAND. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THIS
COMPANY.

received headers (polished ss). Polishing bad, spent $50.00 with my polisher to make them right. Installed on heads-socket wouldn't fit on spark plugs, I was supposed to use an open end wrench to change spark plugs.(engineer should be fired). returned headers--took 3 months to get my money back. when I call, the person in-charge of refunds was never in????

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   Surface defects
Reviewer: Mike Bello from Bellbrook, Ohio     September 27, 2003
I purchased a set of block huggers for my 5.0 L SVO Ford thinking Sanderson was the best in the business. They arrived and had two very noticible surface defects under the ceramic coating. I returned them for a refund, but was of course out the shipping charges both ways. I purchased a set from one of their competitors for half the price and no defects. We need to get past this "Sanderson is the best" because they're not!

I oredered a set of coated headers for my angle plug aluminum heads from Sanderson.(Blockhuggers) I am really satisfied and have not touched them in a year. No leaks or other problems, of course I followed their instuctions. I tried another brand of headers first but couldn't get them to fit.

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   Both headers cracked at collector within 9 months
Reviewer: Anonymous from Boston, MA     September 19, 2003
I bought a set of block hugger headers for a 400 SB Chevy. They initially looked like a quality product. Every 2 weeks or so I had to retorque them. After 9 months cracks developed around the collectors. On one side it actually broke in two.
I replaced them with Thorley headers about a year ago. I have only had to retorqued them 3 times. There are no cracks and they still look great.

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   Won't stand behind their products!
Reviewer: Anonymous from Detroit     July 23, 2003
I bought 2 set of Sanderson hot coated castiron headers at a cost of over 1300.00$ After about 1 months use, one of them cracked. I talked with a sanderson salesperson at the Street Rod Nationals, and he told me that sometimes they get a bad casting. He told me to call the office and return the cracked header. This I did. After waiting over a month, I contacted sanderson and ask about my header. I was told that they don't warrenty there headers and the best they could do was sell me another header at over 300.00. This is no way to run a company! I will never buy another product from this company and have talked a number of other rod builders out of purchasing their products. If you do buy from them, beware if you have any problems! Their service is terrible!!! BE FORWARNED!

Reviewer: 302/Z28     July 16, 2003
Ordered a set of block hugger headers. The young man I spoke to (won't mention his name) had a very foul mouth, but knew the product very well. Ordered 07-09-03, received them today 07-16-03. I got the ceramic silver coating and it almost looks like chrome. Quality is very good, and they are definatly block huggers.

I too have found Donna to be rude and abrasive. I have spent $80,000 plus on my car and wanted the best. I did not go to Sanderson, I found the best somewhere else. I think Donna doesn't need the business.

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   Marginal Quality and Customer Service
Reviewer: Anonymous from Arizona     December 17, 2002
Phone rep Donna may well be a nice person, but anytime I've had to call Sanderson, I have experienced her as abrasive and barely able to conceal her disinterest in whatever I needed. Follow up on her part has been inconsistent.

In addition to Donna's marginal customer skills, I've not been very happy with the quality of the headers I purchased from Sanderson and wish I hadn't spent my $400 there. I would not buy from them again.

3.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.0   Could be better for the money they cost!
Reviewer: Anonymous from Washington     February 16, 2002
I have used a couple sets of Sanderson headers. They appear to be of good quality, however, they fit a little too tight next to the block at the collector flange. Also for the price you pay you would think they can include a quality gasket that doesn't blow out after 100 miles, (two sets did this).
