Excessive handling charges & residential fee

I need a "Quick Kit" for my Demon carb. Part #192003.
I was going to order from Jeg's.
The kit sells for just under $20.
Jeg's wanted $10+ for handling charge and an additional $3+ for shipping to a residential address.
FREE shipping? NOT!!!
They claim they will not be undersold. Well, they will not be getting my business.

I just ordered all of my fuel system parts from JEG's and was sent two, 20' -8 AN fuel lines instead of the -10 I need for supply and return. Called them this morning and they are sending me the -10 line immediately for no cost to me (it's $17.00 more per 20' length) and paying shipping to Alaska. All they requested was that I send the -8 line back at my convenience, which will be cheap via USPS. Also, they now have FedEx ground service to Alaska for you guys up here, and it's pretty reasonable. I ordered on the 12th and got it Saturday the 16th. Heck, that's faster than UPS 2nd day to here and way cheaper.

I have made numerous purchases from them. They are very comparable to Summit. They do have some items that Summit does not and vise versa. Free shipping, good customer service. Being the thirfty guy, I tend to go with Summit to save around $5-$10 bucks on the overall. I believe they are catching up though. That is great becasue most companies are not trying half as hard....

Ordered a Dyno/Max Complete Super Turbo exaust system online from jeg's catalog. Add shows exaust pipes, mufflers, tailpipes & included clamps and hangers. (or so it said).. Notes stated:(1) No Intermediate/header pipes (2) SOME systems may look different than picture. System was for a 1974 Corvette sb/at. Price $169.99 THE RUB: What I got was (2) each: Turbo mufflers, 6" down turn pipe ends, 90* elboes, reducers & (6) clamps. When the exaust pipes failed to show up I called and was told THAT was my Super Turbo Exaust system. Talked to the customer service mgr and got a run a round, they said that's what dyno/max gave them and that's all I get for $170.00!! Called Dyno/Max and was told thats all they make that would fit a 1974 Vette, they don't ,make the adds or the prices that up to jeg's. I had already hot coated the mufflers and ends so I've got some expensive/mufflers and I learned a lesson. IF it looks like a really good deal ASK a lot of questions. Let the buyer beware. I'll go back to Summit.

Their mistake...I pay more and my fuel as well

I am a regular customer in 11th Avenue Columbus store. Today I purchased a NOS Braided Line. Their service person looked up the part and went to the store stock to get this for me. When I went to install it I was disappointed to find the mounting sleeve was not the proper size. I had requested a size #4 but the line had one end with a #4 and the other end with a #3. I then had to make a second trip to the store in order to do an exchange. I was then informed that I had to pay an additional $3.20 difference between the two hose lines. I needed to have the line that night for a car show that I was supposed to enter my car into. But unfortunately due to their employee's mistake I not only had to make the return visit but I had to pay the addional $3.20.....and I missed the show because I could not get the hose installed in time.
All they would do is say "Sorry". If they knew how to do an ounce of Customer Service they would at least pay the differenece in the part since I had to make a return trip of 40 miles total.

I have been using Jeg's for about 15 years and they are by far one of the best mail order parts suppliers I have found. I have used others but was treated rudely on the Phone when ordering because I did not want to pay with a credit card Jeg's said they would take my buisness no matter which way I wanted to pay. So that is my catalog of choice.

Jegs is good, has good prices and products. However they are ALWAYS slightly higher in price, and in their infamous "handling charge" than Summit Racing is. But both outfits are fast, dependable and good to do business with.

I ordered an Eldebrock carb and received it in a short time which was great. Trouble was that it flooded and after changing the ruined oil I finally found one of the floats was full of gas. I called Jegs and they offered no help or to make it good. Noy even a little sympathy. Very disappointed in their post sales attitude.

I placed 2 orders at the same time (both for in stock items), one with Jegs, one with Summit. Price difference between the them is usually negligible, but delivery time is critical. I payed Jegs an extra 20 bucks for an expedient delivery, while standard delivery charges with Summit. The Summit order still arrived before Jeg's.

Ordered parts from them. Got them on time. Always willing to help with tech questions. Had part on back order. They didn't notify me till I called but will ship at once. Recommend: They are friendly, knowledgeable and pricing is correct.

The only complaint I have when it comes to Jeg's is that I ordered a part online that had been discontinued(I didn't know it at the time) and everything come up normal when I was "checking out". Well a week later two of the three parts I had ordered show up. I didn't find out that the part was discontinued untill I called them a few days later, which set me back for the project I was working on at the time. Besides that incident my experiences have been pretty good.

I have purchased many, many items from this company. They have name brand top quality stuff and I have never had a problem with a product or with a order. Order online and it is at my door 3 to 5 days. They must have a pretty good warehouse of stock, because I have never had a back order.
