1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   My father has a truck he had then build in 2000 and it
Reviewer: Anonymous     August 09, 2011
My father has a truck he had them build in 2000 and it is still there. the truck is a 1940 (ford) with a 1948 front end on it, they were turning it into a show car and just never wanted to get it done. So my vision on scotts is he is a layer and theaf at that when you say you are going to do the car do it and do it right dont skip things that needs doing thats my though.

I probably should just shake my head and forget about it but after reading the bad review by anonymous that owns a custom shop having been beat up three times by Scott's Hot Rods 'N Customs I gotta ask why did it take 3 trips to the woodshead before he woke up. One screwing is all it takes for me to vacate the premisis.

5.0/5.05.0/5.05.0/5.05.0/5.05.0/5.0   Don't understand why you guys have these problems
Reviewer: one65chevy from Camarillo, CA     June 06, 2004
First off Scotts built my '32 chassis (Full chassis w/xmember, four-bar, and Scotts Standard coilover IFS...BlalBlaBla) and I don't have a single problem with it. The workmanship that The anonymous(I found those that call others things on the internet are generally big sissies in person) was talking about-What did you order, an expensive part doesn't say much. Becuase they also sell other companies parts how do we know the craftmanship you are taking about is theirs. The craftmanship on my chassis is better than most of the larger companies do. As for RedFrom AZ your common Ford truck is not common. If your talking of an older style truck (30s, 40,s.....) I could be wrong but did Ford have their computerized frame amking process set up back then. Don't think so, even the newer models are not square. If you've ever built anything besides a toaster you would relize the dimensions back then were not perfect unless you think a few guys could weld and cut like a machine. And for the Anonymous form CA. If you are such a genius why are you ordering from them what your so called fabrication shop should be able to do on its own. Have 1 problem shame on them, have two problems shame on you have three problems-- DO YOUR OWN THEN. I never bother listening when a business downs a collegue. Its usually for his own interest. I guess thats all Thanks for listening and remember The bigger the company the more bad press you'll have and generally its not as bad as everyone exaggerated it to be. MY CHASSIS ROCKS!!!!!

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   Sounds like is "my bad"
Reviewer: Anonymous     June 03, 2004
Scott's reply says nothing to address the complaints that were made in the derogatory post or any mention of making good. Therefore I must conclude that the accusations are true.
I would not do business with Scott"s.

5.0/5.05.0/5.05.0/5.05.0/5.05.0/5.0   both sides of a story
Reviewer: scotts@scottshotrods.com     June 03, 2004
Sometimes I am just amazed by the way that people love to post bad info about companies, but never tell both sides of the story. I have been at Scotts for the past 5 years, and several other companies before that. No matter where I am at I always find it humorous when there is a mix up with an order how quickly customers (not all) assume the worst. I hate to tell you all this, but sometimes things happen....with any company. Whether it's car parts, buying a home, or ordering computer parts online, things just happen. There is no way that every company anywhere in the world will ever be able to make each and every customer happy. The only thing we can do is try to rectify the situation as they come up. Unfortunately, like the first person to post here, a lot of times they will not let us do that. This industry is powered by mostly male, over 40, car enthusiasts who are very passionate about what they do. I understand that for a lot of people, like myself, this is not a hobby, but a way of life. That combination makes for a little less than rational thinking sometimes. Unfortunatley that way of thinking doesn't always let you see things that are out of our control. It is very common to be backordered on parts like coilovers, brakes, etc.. So all I can say is that if anyone ever has a problem with a company they are dealing with, try to work it out. I guarantee that 99.9% of them will do anything they can, including us at Scotts, to make you happy.
And one last comment. I am sure that all of you know how credit cards work. If at anytime you are not happy with your product, or have not received it, Visa, M.C., AmEx, or Disc, will immediately credit back your card. So just a thought for anyone who likes to post things like we refused to refund their money.

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   Scott's fails to deliver as advertised on all levels.
Reviewer: Redbarkingcat from Arizona     March 15, 2004
Ordered an IFS from Scott's. Three months after 50% deposit was paid, I get a call from Scott's asking for dimensions on my very common Ford truck. Six months later, received partial order of IFS, nothing fit; system was totally unusable. Scott's refused refund, take back order, correct problems or discuss situation. Told me to take a leap. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SCOTT'S!

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   These Bozos deserve "NO STARS!"

What a joke! How do these guys even stay in business? I am building a very high dollar car and ordered a very expensive part from these morons. It was the worst piece of craftsmanship I have ever seen. It took over a two months to get my money back. I saw these guys written up in a magazine awhile back, somebody got payed off. Stay away or you'll be sorry!

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   I am very dissapointed with Scotts Hotrods
Reviewer: Anonymous from California     January 08, 2004
I have used Scotts Hotrods IFS system on three occasions and it was like pulling teeth to get what I ordered. Their quality control is terrible and I've had to send deffective parts back on numberous occasions only to be sent more deffective parts. Scotts parts are not for the novice because a novice may not spot these deffects and they may not be aware of geometry problems in the suspension kits.
I'm still trying to get the parts that I paid for three months ago. I tried to get a refund on this order so I could buy from another supplier but they would not do that. I will never buy another thing from Scotts Hotrods.
