Exceeded my expectations

We are currently building a 1955 Chevy 454 Big Block drag car. We needed to mount an alternator on the lower left side of the block. It needed to drive directly off the crank as we have a CSI electric water pump, so no water pump pulley.
We found Lane Custom Products in New York on the Internet. We talked with them over the phone and they recommended the mount they thought would fit best.
The mount arrived in record time, was fantastic looking and made with great precision. When we installed the mount we ran into a few clearance problems. The Big Block has been located 10 inches back from the stock location. The mount fit great but the alternator would interfere with the upper control arm.
I sent Jerry Lane of Lane Custom Product some digital photographs of the problem we were faced with. I thought I would give him a few days and then give him a call. Two days after I sent him the photographs we had a new design mount delivered to the house.
It fit fantastic. The alternator mounted with good clearance to the upper control arm, had just enough clearance to the front of the block, kept the belt short to the crank, and was solid as a rock.
I called Jerry to thank him for his quick service and willingness to custom build the mount we needed at no additional cost from his stock products. His only concern was building a mount that would solve our problem and customer satisfaction.
I would highly recommend you check out Lane Custom Products for their line of custom made products. If you do not see what you need I would work with them to have it custom built.
