New SBC 383 Stroker engine, TCI 350 Street Fighter Transmission & More w/ 1985 Camaro
*** SOLD ***

I have up for sale my new SBC 383 Stroker engine with TCI TH-350 Street Fighter Transmission and much, much more that just so happens to come with a rust free 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 / IROC-Z previously titled in Oklahoma then sat in a garage in Wisconsin from 2002 until completed. What you get here is a truly turnkey system that I like to call my IROC-383 which was built to push approx. 420HP. The car is solid, runs and drives great and nearly the entire drivetrain is new. When I say new I mean I just passed 400 miles on everything that is new in the car and it was all done right. The only thing not new in the drivetrain is the rear end; it is still the original 10 Bolt which isn't a bad thing. There is a lot of good going on here, so much so that the receipts tally over $9,000 but that's not to say the car is perfect it is after all 29 years old and does need some things and has some minor issues which I will list below. The car could be finished but you don't have to as it could be driven just fine as it is or one could use everything here for your own project or 3rd Gen Camaro at a fraction of the cost then to buy it all yourself. Then you part out the car to recoup some of your cost. If you are going to use the car as it is it really deserves a limited slip/posi rear end. That was going to be my next task. I was planning on upgrading the stock 10 Bolt to some Moser 28 Spline axles with a Torsen differential from a 4th Gen and coving it up with a girdle cover so that I could put an end to the one wheel wonder and put the power to the ground where it is needed.

In the pictures you will see that it has the standard front clip, the reason for this is the car did have some front end damage on the passenger side that was repaired well before all this was put into it and the car drives nice and straight with no shimmering as you speed down the road. Good news is I do have the proper front clip with trim and lights (no fogs though) that will go with the car. It is missing a few mounting tabs but you could still make it work. (Replace it and now you can sell the other one for some $$$ to put back into the car) The driver's door was starting to sag and that was bothering me so I just replaced the pins in it last week and it is working great now. Also didn't quite like the exhaust so I just put the Stainless Hushpower on and now it sounds like it should. When I had the muffler put on I went ahead and took pictures of the undercarriage. You will see all the new stuff as well as surface rust but that is it, just surface as it is solid everywhere, no holes etc. . . Also just put a nice JVC media deck with Bluetooth streaming, USB, Hands free phone w/ mic and remote. I had to put in new dash speakers as it had none in the front. Rear had decent 3-Way 6x9's so I left them in.

But I will stop rambling on and give you a long list of good and the short list of not so bad. I might have missed something but I really did my best to show you exactly what there is to know. The mileage will be going up slightly as the days pass as I still like to drive it now and then. Was at 25,146 on the odometer upon completion of the install and is currently at 25,668. (Accurate? I think it moves faster then it should with speedo being off)

What you should know about the car that I know;
•The repaired front end damage that I mentioned above.
•Doors have a few small dings/dents in them.
•Interior shows its age, driver's seat worn/torn on side. Piece poking through on passenger seat, seat belt pieces on seat off/missing? Rear seats are nice, one small hole driver's side.
A few small cracks/breaks on plastics etc. . . I have replaced some stuff as I went along. Carpet on floor and doors look good, head liner is sagging, held up with corkscrews. Some loose trim.
•All gauges work in the dash except the water temp & oil pressure as they have been disconnected and new ones put in the pod on the driver's side pillar.
•Speedometer works, however it is off. For example; when I am going 65MPH the speedo reads 83MPH
•Dash lights, headlights, tail lamps, blinker lights and brake lights all work just fine.
•When you make a left turn the blinker doesn't disengage. With a right turn it does sometimes.
•Windshield needs to be replaced, has a star crack. I do have the rear view mirror.
•Window weather strip felts need to be replaced. The ones that guide the window. Driver side is worse than passenger.
•Car could use a paint job, peeling and a long scratch on the driver's side (someone was jealous!) Maybe do an undercoat.
•Could use tires, they have tread but are old and cracking. (Have fun, burn them up before you get new ones)
•Power windows work, but are slow. Power door locks work but take a few presses. Rear hatch works fine.
•Ground effect on driver's rocker panel cracked, can only be seen when door is open.
•Missing emblems on front clip, rear bumper and passenger side. One rim is missing IROC-Z center cap.
•No horn, No A/C, heat works fine.
•I've only ever ran premium gas
