Description: 1947 ford business coupe
Have up for sale a 1947 ford business coupe. It was purchased in approx. 1990 as a father son project. Car was finished pretty much as it is now in about 94.
When purchased it was a mostly rust free car with the exception of the rockers and running boards .the entire frame and underside of the car was sandblasted.
The rockers and running boards were all replaced and molded for a one piece look.
The car has been nosed and decked, and the rear license plate was frenched. Power trunk release. It has been wheel tubbed in case you would want to go pro-street with it..
Trim was removed, and the bumpers stripped. The entire car is coated in variprime etching primer and covered in europrime hi build epoxy primer. It has been edged in hot blue, and the firewall painted. All glass is new tinted smoke gray., and the windshield was v butted. The finish paint has never happened. It needs blocking and top coat yet. There are a few areas that will need a little work where the primer has cracked . the rest has held up well. There is a small crease in the l.f. fender just behind the bumper a few inches long. A minor repair, and the windshield wipers arenít working at this time. They are vacuum. a electric bolt in kit is available at a reasonable price.
The engine is a mild built small block 350 chevy, probably in the area of 275-300 horsepower, with a aluminum intake and edlebrock 600 cfm carb. Alumized shorty headers. The trans. Is a rebuilt th 350 with a shift kit, and shifted by a b&m cable shifter the rear end is a 9Ē ford, with 3.0 gears now. Front suspension is a raised front crossmember with a 4Ē dropped axle.chassis engineering split wishbones. Gm front disc brakes, and gm cross steering. The car really sits nice with this setup. We were after that fat jack look, and we got it!!! The rear suspension is chassis engineering parallel leaf springs. The interior needs finishing yet. It has some nice bucket seats, and I canít remember what they are out of. As stated, it is a business coupe, so no rear seat.
The car runs, drives, and rides good. It is a great highway cruiser. It hasnít been driven a lot of miles. Iím guessing 10-15 k miles. Has been to many major events in the Midwest, and has been nsra safety inspected, although not current on inspection.
It hasnít been driven much in the last few years, so it has been decided to let the car go to a new home where it can be finished in your choice of color and interior.
This has been a great troublefree car for us, just needing normal maintainance.
The car is being sold as is with no warranty . all inspections are welcome, as there is nothing to hide on this car. I have all receipts for the building of this car. It has a clear Wisconsin title.
I have many spare parts for the car that will be made available to the buyer at very reasonable price. Complete front clip (46) three rear fenders, many misc items
