. 028 gasket
I am cleaning up an old 4 bolt 350 Chev. I put in a 2102 cam (Edelbrock) and lifters. I am running this engine in an 1989 Chev. 1/2 ton. I bought and installed a Mr Gasket gasket kit and now after reading a whack of info on quench ,I have ordered up .028 head gaskets to reduce the quench. I will get serious this time with the heads off to determine the deck height and the ccs of the 882 heads . From what I measured before, I was at .020 in the hole. These are high compression forged pistons . Not doing my home work has caused me to think (NOT KNOW) that the head gasket is.040 Am I correct in thinking that .060 is too much quench.
