1 or 2 peace main seal

i'm at a loss here i bought this engine as a short block casting 14093638 above the oil filter side is c229 a big 5 number and gm5.7 sgi well was told it was a one peace main seal and it looked at it when i got it has the aluminum plate on the back of the engine that looks nothing like a 2 peace that im used to buying ,,,,went to go buy a pan for it and don't fit the gaskit is allot taller seems to be the same size as a 2 peace main seal also the crank on the end where the flywheel mounts to looks to me just like the 2 peace seal two very confused i heard of a retro fit one peace seal but never seen one

You can run the older crank in the block with the correct seal adaptor there are adaprtors for the late pans and one for the early pans.
