Is 1/4" -3/8" enough space?

Hi all,

I am installing power steering on my 1955 2nd series truck. Once I installed the PS pump the fan and the alternator belt are both about 1/4" away from the PS pulley. So my question is is this enough room for them. I would think so but would like to have other opinions.

The attached photos are different views. In the pictures the relationship between the items seems closer due to the camera operator's abilities...err or lack there of.

It should be. Some of the factory stuff is real close together as depending what it came off of there was limited room.

I don't have a good pic of the 351M in my 53 ford, but I wound up with about the same clearance when I was done. The fan blades flatten out as the rpms go up so Iv'e never had a bit of trouble in three years.

You can use a spacer in the fan to move the fan forward another 1/2. Although not needed IMO it's a piece of mind. (gross, a piece of brain?)
