1.5 vs 1.6 on a 406

what do U builders think about intake & exhaust ratios?
stay w/1.5's on all 16 or mix'em up w/1.5's Int/1.6 exh. or 1.6's on 16 valves
have a 263 int/273 exh @.50 cam w/13.8:1 c/r 406sbc. TunnelRam in a flat bottom boat, got 1.6 on the heads now, but the builder didnt do a good job of ck'n the 1.60 springs vs. the underside of the rocker, alum in the filter :pain: so I'm gonna get the correct rockers for the springs, so nows the time to decide on ratios and what about useing the old push rods 8.100 on 1.5's? its a no-no

just buy a cam that will do all the work...........1.6 is mostly to pep up a stock motor.

Depends on the application.

What style lifter is the cam ground for. Roller or flat tappet? Also what cylinder head are you using?

Then why do race engines often run ratios in excess of 2:1 on solid roller cams?
