1.52 comp magnum rockers

I have an erson .443/.465 cam in my small block that's in my78 Malibu. I was now thinking about the 1.52 ratio rockers for it which would bring my lift to .449/.471. This cam is noticeable at idle but will the 150$ be worth the spending. As of now I am sitting around330 to 340 horse. Will there be any increase with roller tips and a little more lift? Any help appreciated!

It might make about 5 or less horse difference. The only place you`ll notice the difference is your wallet.

I agree, .006 increase in lift is chump change. Have you considered 1.6's, maybe on just the exhaust side?

The added lift is not going to matter much at all, the benefit comes in knowing they are all in fact 1.52 : 1, stamped steel OEM types can be out to lunch. I use the same magnums and they are well made and the body is stronger than stock, I dont think the roller tip adds the 15HP they claim over stock, it would be nice to actually see an independent dyno sheet pull all things being the same except for the roller tips/oem rockers.

I ran a Corvette in showroom stock SCCA competition and built a jig to test rocker arms. The stock rockers seldom exceed 1.44:1 actual ratio and most don't make that. I tested 96 rockers to get my 16 for that engine and you would not believe the poor quality control!!
The Comps will give you close to the 1.52:1 they advertise so the difference is not 1.52:1 vs 1.5:1 but vs 1.44:1!
If you put roller rockers at 1.5:1 you will notice the power difference at higher RPMs.
Word of caution on the Comp cast rockers, you need new pushrods to run them as the old pushrods have worn on the ball so that they don't exactly fit the new cast rockers and probably will fail at the tip where they hit the rocker.

do you need new rockers?
or just fishing for some extra HP?

If don't need new rockers, I would spend the money on making sure it is correctly tuned
timing, carb adj. etc
