Post 1.6 lifters

On a mostly stock 300 hp 350, If you change the rockers to a 1.6 lift, how much will that affect the cam duration ? Should I be aware of any problems doing this. Existing cam lift is quite low (.39/.42 and duration is 198/212). Thanks

Have found on the stock stuff..try just the intakes first.(half a set) You do need to check the rocker geometry its not just a bolt on deal.

I put a set of 1.6 roller rockers on a fairly stock 300 hp 350 and it worked just fine. It seemed to rap quicker and smoother.
I don't believe you will have any problems or regrets with this modification on a mild 350.

Check your geometry, by putting some bluing ink on the rocker and turning the engine over ( probably by hand) so that the valvles ( intake and exhaust) both open and close completely. Then take the rocker off again and check to see where the rocker is riding . If it isnt close to center you will be hard on the valve giudes. I would also check that the springs arent binding when the valves are completely opened . In your case you are likely all right , but for what little time it takes, check it out anyway. Better safe than sorry! Hope this helps.

I don't know what your objective are, but I think I would go for a bigger cam first. It would cost you about the same or less and you would get modern cam design working for you.
