1 wire alternators

Whats the big deal about a 1 wire alternator, My Painless kit shows how to do it both ways on my 73-86 truck kit. The kit doesnt go in to great detale about which is better for my ride, so i decided to use the jumper wire meathed, to be on the safe side. (Please Advise)

Someone in one of the forums here posted the following link to a website/page regarding a comparison between using a one-wire or the three-wire version. Whomever that was, "Thanks!". Anyway, although I find the explanation a bit convoluted and too wordy, the information on the webpage and website (other valuable data to be found there) is very informative. Because of what I learned there, I will always strive in the future, or recommend to other folks, to set-up an alternator with the three-wire method.

Check out what I'm blabbering about at -

one-wire alternator vs. three-wire

Glad I could help. I can't take credit for bringing that info to this website, but, I can at least bring it to the attention of other folks who may benefit by it.
