10 bolt Camaro differential with disc brakes

I have a 57 Coupe with a factory Camaro disc brake rear end I have no idea which model its from and I wish to replace the calipers. Can anybody tell me which models had the rear discs or how to identify this rear end?

Some later 3rd gen (82-92) Camaros had disc rear on up through 93-02 (4th gen).. They were aluminum single pot calipers 98-02.

I'd say take an inner and outer pad to Napa and say 'Camaro rear'... Maybe they can match you up a set.

Yes NAPA none of the other stores like Auto Zombie will have a clue. If you cannot tell them exactly what it came from so they can look in their catalog they are brain dead IMHO.

my guess, is the rear is a 10 bolt out of a 79-81 2nd gen f body..
as it was leaf spring..
look at the center of the rear end, where the driveshaft is.. on the drivers side of the shaft. if there is a mounting boss. going straight up and down..

if it has this type mount for a torque arm it's from a 82-02
and they had many running changes on the rears of those
the rear in photo is a ford 9" but will give you an idea where the mount for the torque arm is

If it's from a 2nd gen F-body (Firebird/T/A) it will be a 8.5" rear end. If it's from a 3rd gen F-body it'll be the 7.5/7.625" rear end.

The difference can be seen externally- take a look here for more info on ID'ing it.

That's no joke!! It's the same way here in Kansas City. You can't even get our guys to look through a catalog. If it's not in their computer right on front of their face they will never find it!! Parts store employees suck!! For some reason NAPA I guess is the exception. Just had to add to your point. lol
