10 Bolt Id

I Purchased A 10 Bolt From A Junk Yard For A 71 Chevelle. The Measurements Are The Same As The 8.2 That Was In The Car, I Was Needing An 8.5. Stampings On The Right Axle Tube Are "sa B159 1". On The Pumpkin Front Bottom "cfd". On The Pumpkin Top And The Front Of The Axle Tube Openings A Large "a". Also On The Pumpkin "1235197" There Was One Brake Drum On The Axle That Had A Buick Insignia. What Have I Bought And Will A Standard Gm 8.5 Ring And Pinion Work, The Pinion Dia Is 1.625 And Has Bolt In Axles. It Bolted Right In As Far As The Four Link When We Checked It For Fit. Can Anyone Tell Me What This Is Out Of? And If There Is A Problem As Far As Building And Using It?

I have already checked that site, and while they have the most info i've found, i couldn't really make an i.d. thanks for the reply and suggestion, but i guess i'll just keep looking. i did have one parts guy say that the stamping on the axle tube indicated that the "SA" was for the gear ratio, that the "B" was for Buick, and that the "159" inndicated 159th day of year, and that the "1" indicated first shift, but could not tell me how to identify year or application.
thanks very much for your reply, i appreciate the input.
