10 Bolt question - remove axles

I have a 85 camaro 10 bolt 3.08. I was needing to take my axles out to put new disc brake brackets on. BUT the bolt that holds the slider pin in, wont turn i put a 5/16 BOX end of the wrench on it, Its not rounded off yet but the wrench just spins. Is this a special bolt or do i need a different tool. I cant fit a socket on there, theres not enough room for a ratchet. Has anyone had a problem with this. ........ THANKS in advance

you need a "good" 6 point wrench.... make sure you can move the spider pin, it should move just a little. take a hammer and bang on the carrier right by the retaining bolt, this will help loosen it up.

Use a 1/4 inch drive socket and 2 inch extenstion and a good 1/4 inch ratchet or breaker bar and tap it with a shop hammer... From the factory the bolts have loctite on them...

Be sure to position the carrier at a point level with the centerline of the axles so you can get the socket setup on it... Be sure to use a 6 point socket too...

get a little tiny 1/4" drive breaker bar and use a 6 point socket on it.
