10 ft wide garage doors..............

I just bought a house with a double garage, that has never had the garage doors installed. The openings are framed at 10 ft wide. I have never heard of 10 ft wide doors and there seems to be no stock listings for them on Home Depot etc web sites. The siding is all installed etc, so I dont want to reframe them to 9 ft.....................Anyone ever heard of 10 ft wide doors? Will I need to get custom built doors?

Hi Harry....the doors on my shop are 10 ft. wide and 10 ft tall. That is a standard size and there are even bigger sizes. If your home improvement stores do not stock the 10 ft. ....they should be able to order them. Or you could also check the phone book for a larger city and look for overhead doors. We have a place here in my town....the name of it is Overhead Door Co. Another thought.... check with the contractors that put up metal buildings as they all use the larger doors. I will check and see if I can find out anything else for you.
