I would have kept the Quadrajet. Any carb is only as good as the guy tuning it. A street avenger is a good carb. but so is the edelbrock. The only advantage the holley has is easier to work on, easier to change jets and etc.
If it were me I would go back to the Quadrajet and leave well enough alone.

If you don't like the Edelbrock and you know the history of the Holley (ie it is as new and little used as the owner says it is) then that seems like a pretty good price to give it a try

I have a 670 Street Avenger on my 34, I like it. Idles good and gets fairly good gas mileage. $100 if it's new is a steal.

I've known this guy since the 80's and he always has his garage well kept he's had this carb in his rollaway and has never opened it.I like the q-jet too especially since that edelbrock cost like $280 and it wouldnt even come close to the qjet and the qjet had problems with it,I had a lot of trouble getting it to idle under 1000 in drive it would lope and die,I changed the carb and it fixed it,but now the truck feels lazy and doesnt move nearly as easy as before I was thinking the holley might bring back some of my performance

the 670 is a good carb i ran one on for a couple years on a pretty hot 327 it had a pretty lean idle transfer that was took a fair amount of tweaking to get right after it was set up right it worked very well for me
