10si one wire alt question

Some time ago I bought an economy 10si one wire alternator for my project. Since then I've learned the advantages of a 3 wire setup. The alternator does have accessible regulator terminals. They are covered by a rubber plug. Can I go ahead and just wire it as a 3 wire or isn't that possible once it has been configured as a one wire? I'm doing a complete new wiring job on the vehicle.

Roger

Why not ask the source of your alternator that question? That's what I did. In my case, what was sold as a one-wire also functions as a three-wire simply by hooking up the appropriate wire to the two terminal now covered by the rubber plug. But, I'm no electrical expert, so I'd check with the supplier before proceeding.

You were right Bob. I should have done that in the first place. I got my answer. It can be wired either way.
