lol when I read that artical I was thinking about how mad it was gonna make some people

Not mad, just showing were they went wrong, after all there pc shoot out only had the Chevy .04sec ahead of the Mopar in a 1/4 in the same car, and if it's that close it's all down to who gets off the line better. But that's what happens when a GM grind goes in a Mopar, you get GM performance

Boy, you Mopar guys are tough....You take the SBC and basically replicate it in the 340/360 and add the highpo stuff like 18% heads and 6 inch rods and raised cam and still you complain....
Just watch NHRA today and chill out!!!! |

Am I missing something Sandflea427? did you mean they ad that to the SBC?, or the Mopar? I think everyone should know that even the lowly 318 2 b has 6" rods, (6.123) for those that don't know as with all stock LA Mopars , and the difference in the size of the Lifters Mopar-(.904)-vs- SBC-(.842) meaning you can use a cam with a faster rate of lift with a Mopar
This is the key for a longer, fatter power curve. I was just saying that the engine builder used the wrong cam to get the power out, He used a GM grind in a Mopar. And the point of the article was to see who could have a longer, fatter power curve wasn't it? |

The same holds true when it comes to machine work. There is no way I would let a machine shop that specializes in Chevy motors touch one of my hemis. A lot of things wind up being different between brands (valve guide clearance for instance) and having a machine shop use their every day "rule of thumb" clearances that work fine on GM motors on a hemi will usually wind up shortening the life of the valve guides on the Mopar motor. Always go to a specialist. It's the only way to be sure the guy knows what he's doing. Nuff Said. Centerline http://www.hotrodsandhemis.com |

I don't know if I would call it Chevy Craft, after all, they did Show the Mopars Winning the Crate motor shoot out, but then again Hot Rod had the Crate motor mopar winning to.mmmmmm, And not just the small block shoot out, Seems the mopars won there Big Block Shoot outs too.

Yeah, but they're pro-Chevy. They feature Chevy's more and most of their tech is Chevy related. |

That is true, I think most mags tend to lean to the GM side, but lets face it,there trying to sell the most mags they can, and most people build GM's because it's alot Cheaper than a Mopar or Ford, And there is more 2 door cars to Choose from, I'm a Mopar guy all the way, But when is the last time they made a 2 door car that can be built up? Aspen? Trucks are ok, but there not cars, I'm just lucky to have a good Challenger to work on. But then again If a guy did build up a Aspen, he would have to do as much to the Suspension as the GM guy would do to get the power to the ground. I just think that doing a build up and (LETTING THE GM WIN) is a bad way to sell mags. Like I said Letting the GM win, Get the most out of GM, and build the mopar just a hair under. and for no extra $$$ put in the right cam and blow the SBC away. But that wouldn't sell mags would it.
