11 inch clutch vs 12 inch (engine swap)

I'll be swapping out my 305 for a 350 soon and decided to replace the clutch while I have the engine out. The problem is that the clutch for the 350 is 12 inches and the 305 is 11 inches.
The trans is a 3500 5 speed manual. Should I order the 12 inch clutch? Will it fit into my bellhousing? What about the fly wheel? I searched the site and the net for the answer without luck. Sorry if this is a dumb question. It's my first engine swap and need all the help I can get. Thanks

Get your self the original twelve inch clutch and plate. Surface the flywheel while you are at it. You don't want clutch chatter.

The difference is not in the engine so much as it is in the trans bellhousing. This swap is about as easy as it get's. Everything should be a direct change. 305 and 350's are identical on the exterior.

Is this a pickup truck? I think that the new venture 3500 trans. has an integral bellhousing! If that is the case, you may have to stay with the original clutch setup!

I would definitely go with the same size clutch as O.E. unless you know of someone that has installed the 12' in the NV 3500. But, that doesn't mean that you can't install a performance clutch assembly that will hold much better than the stocker!

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go with a performance 11" clutch.
