The coast side doesn't look bad. I can't really read the drive side. Is this a new or used gear?
Do you have the pinion bearing preload set to 19 to 21 inch pounds? If you do then stick and axle in it and use the axle to turn everything when checking the pattern. It will give you a more clear pattern and it will be a lot easier to read.
Pics are too blurry to read well and are mostly all of the coast side, need to see the drive side better(Drive side is the steeper or "straighter" side)
New gears and carrier set preload approx 25" lbs.using beam style wrench not that great but should be in ballpark, will do more tomorrow! Thank You BGH !
Thanks BGH, I thought that's what it looked like...that the pinion was too shallow. Haven't personally looked at one so far out of whack in a long time, that I wasn't sure I was looking correctly.
As far as I can tell it looks real good. The pictures are out of focus, so I can't be sure, and it would probably help if you put a few drops of gear oil on the marking compound to thin it a little.
