Post 12 bolt spider gears question

I have a 12 bolt car rear end with a series 2 posi that is in need of spider gears. Could anyone tell me if there is a difference between posi and open spiders and also is there a chance spiders from a 12 bolt truck are the same.

Thanks
Rob

its been a few years but if i remember correctly the posi spider gears are a little thinner than the open gears and have more flat area where they contact the clutches, no the truck gears won't work. MOROSO used to sell "break proof" posi's and spiders, try them, probably replaced a 3gal pail worth of broken ones while drag racing in the seventies, got wise and put in a 9" ford.

Thanks Bob

I pulled mine out and went to the yard and if I had done that before I posted I would have known.
