14" air filter

I'm trying to find the part number or any brand number or application of an early Pontiac air filter that was a true 14" in diameter. Seems to me there was one a few, ok, quite a few years back. I have an aftermarket air cleaner and it takes a 14" filter, but all I can find is the 13 1/2" by 4 filter. Just bugs me that it doesn't fit right. A 14 by 3 would work too, i'd just stack two as I have lots of hood room. Anyone remember what vehicle had the 14" filter?

I bought a K&N 14 by 4 but have decided to 86 that and stay with paper. Long story.

I know that sometimes Checker or AZ sell a 14" filter, but they seem to get kinda pricey and I go through them fairly quickly here in the dusty climate and my camping excursions. Thanks for any info.

Mark

If you have the time, I would just go down to your local Auto Zone with a tape measure and start looking. They usually have a ton of filters all out on the shelf. If you find an application that is great, but I am always impatient
