14 bolt 30 spline rearend

i want to know how to tell between open or what ever rearend i have pic of mine and need to know if i can use my carrier for a locker

I'm assuming that you have the GM 14 bolt 10.5 rear end with floating axles. This rear end used the standard differential case for the Detroit Locker. You just split the case, remove the axle and pinion gears and put the locker in.
