14015445 casting?

I have an option to get this motor out of an RV with casting 14015445. I see were it says 75-87 truck motor, but not tall deck so would this fit in a chevelle with no problems vs some of the issues I would have if it were a tall deck.

Thanks,

14015445...454.......78-90...2 or 4 bolt
Nope, it`s not a tall deck so it`ll drop right into a chevelle no problem.

Good deal, I'll go check it out tomorrow. It has 45,000 original miles on it. Mabe it will turn out to be a good motor for a stroker. Anybody have a clue of what kind of trans is in these Fleetwood RV's?

My best guess would be TH400. Slide underneath and look at the trans pan configuration....

I sure hope it is a t400 that would be exactly what I want. Thanks for the pan gasket page. I printed it out to take with me. Now If I get it, I've got to figure out how the motor comes out since it's in the middle of the cab.

Good to here from someone with a chevelle saying it will fit. I was a little worried because the headers on my 402 barely and I mean barely miss my steering stem.

Thanks for the info!

As far as getting it out, resort to the old stand by tools. Such as a sawzall, sledge hammer, smoke wrench (torch)! LOL all you want is the drive train. The rest is scrap metal!

The odd thing is that someone is still living in it, but is letting the motor and trans go. So I guess I'm going to have to be as neat as possible. Torch would be nice! LOL

There's an old saying...."A miss is as good as a mile"

It is sad, not sure of the situation yet, but I have an old cyle (Harley). I never ride that I put up for trade in the local classifieds for a good motor and trans for a spare build. Looks like the guy really needs something to save on gas. I didn't know about him living in it until he told me. Doesn't sound like the RV is in to good of shape. The motor supposedly only has 45,000 miles on it along with the trans. I can tell he really wants the bike. I'll be losing out because the bike would be more than this stock motor and trans, but I am looking for a 454 to bulid and a good trans, so if all is good I'll do it to help him out a little excpecially if I get out there and the conditions are like they sound. If I do it I hope we can get it out without messing up his rv more than it already is.

I think you would have to remove it out the front. The chassis is a roller/driver when delivered to the factory for the body to be installed. They had to leave a way out in case of engine failure, etc.
Probably complete front end disassembly and likely the seats and dog house. Trans would probably be best to remove separate.
