Post 180-degree/flat-plane crankshafts & Engines

Does anyone know a source for 180-degree/flat-plane crankshafts and a good reference for building such an engine? Thanks.

There is no advantage to having a 180 degree crank in a V8 unless you like the motorboat sound. The only advantage is the balancing is simplified so a high rpm motor would have different harmonics. I doubt you need to spin your 350 Chev to 11 000 rpm do you? Why do you need this kind of crank, magazine article?

I'll agree and then some. As I undestand it, a flat crank doesn't make more power, costs more and not as easy to set-up. Why then? its all about the sound.
