1927 Chevy radiator

After a lot or research and measuring, I finally bought a radiator that fits my 1927 Chevy radiator truck shell. I will have to do some mounting modifications that you would expect, but I now have a very nice looking aluminum modern radiator fpr the Chevy V6 motor I installed. I do want to put some kind of rock guard or mesh in front of it and looked online at a few places that sell Model A radiator rock guards. They are real pretty but I am old skool and would like something a little less glittery than these. I have seen some posts of guys who went to their local home improvement stores, and bought some mesh materials. I also don't much care for the price of the online units. Can someone give me some facts about the mesh I should be looking for at the home improvement stores or some place else? Seems every time I go online to research this and find a reasonable product, it is in the U.K.... If someone has successfully found a poor man's solution to this, I would be happy to hear it and see some pictures if that would be possible.... thanks.

You might have to have one made up. I had a rock and bug guard/bra on my 'bucket which was a nice padded vinyl with a soft screen material - McMaster Car have several vinyl coated screening materials while a local fabric store or even your upholsterer will have a yard of some color vinyl that will work.
