I used a panhard bar on my A model. Four bars and coilovers. It does just fine

If you use a panhard bar, make it as long as possible.

The cars rear end won't feel as though it's moving a lot
over the bumps...

1927 Ford coupe rear suspension?

If by air shocks you re talking about air assist shock absorbers, ditch that right now. They are not acceptable as primary springing. Go with the coil overs for the most trouble free set up. The Watts link will give you the best ride of the two, but the panhard bar will be easier to set up. Another choice would be air bags, but there again, the coil overs are easier to set up.

You should use a wats link or pan-hard bar to be safe. The pan-hard bar is the easiest and as someone already said make it as long as possible. Short bars tend to make the rear end move from side to side much more than longer ones. Coil overs are fine as is an air ride setup. Don't use air shocks.
