1928 Cadillac Limo 22ft

I am redoing the suspension on a 1928 Cadillac Limo that is 22 feet in length.
I am planning to use a rack and pinion style steering and possibly a mustang II front end kit. Do-to the fenders and clerances I find I need a low profile air ride kit of some sort so as not cut into the fender. I may go with a Fatman suspension kit "classic Affordable" but they say there is no way to use it with air ride suspensions. What I would like is some suggestions based on people that have put air rides in 20-30's cars thoe any input would be great.

the car is 22 ft long with about a 197in wheel base and weighs 5800lbs but also seats 8 at an outside average of 200lbs per person.

I don't thnk I can help you with your specific problem but I would sure like to see some photos of your project. Why don't you create a journal and post a few.

You are kidding, right???

Anyways, 1st thing that comes to mind...................is the M11 suspension strong enough for that much weight? I would think not.....................

What about Swapping in a 73+ 1 ton Chevy truck front end You can bag them easily the plate kit is about 60 bucks and then the cost of your air bags

They can be bolted on (That is how its done stock) all you need to do is fab mounts that it can be bolted on to

I was researching building a 1937 Cadillac Limousine with a weight of @ 5,500 lbs. Talked with the folks at Art Morrison who stated a MII based unit would not be stout enough nor be able to generate the braking needed for such a heavy car. They referred me to JFZ Customs that had developed a 1/2 ton truck based suspension using the truck spindles and rotors with a MII rack. The track width is 62" which just guessing is too wide for your application. They currently have an S10 based suspension in development.

Jim Meyer Racing has a suspension based on the second generation F body with a track width of 59" available. There is of course a weight difference between the Camaro and your limousine.

We were also considering http://www.pauzasfd.com/ who could design and build what was needed. You might want to check them out. Keep us posted.
