REO - service car (Australia)
I was just browsing the web and noticed that you had a photograph of the day I picked up the wreck of my REO country service car. The car was extended to carry 11 passengers in 1934 by the "Supreme Body Company" of Roslyn St. West Melbourne Australia. I caught up with an old chap who drove it back then and he told me it had done 1,000,000km by 1940 on 3 different engines, broke a diff. in 1942 and had to wait till the end of the war for a replacement. They put a 'Brengun Carrier" diff. under it and then did another 800.000km in it up till 1960 at which time they parked it in the truck wreckers yard where we found it 40 years later. I have 'steeled out' the body and replaced the drive train with 4.1 lt. Ford gear. I will attach a j-peg of the car almost completed. It will join my stretched 1929 Dodge service car as part of my collection.
