im tryin to figgure out my front end arrangement.and i ran into some problems.
the axle is off a 1930 olds. the axle from center hole to center hole is 26.5"
my chassis is 26" wide in the front.
can the axle be drilled further out than those center holes?, what problems would it cause if any?

ive asked a few of my friends and they tell me to run a set of hair pins instead of the radius rods, but i like the radius rod look.

another thing is, my spindles. the current ones i have are off the 1930 olds
it has a king pin dimention of .875 x 5.5 in length.
the mounting bolt holes are 4-7/16 apart.(verticle)
the rear of the spindle where the rear bearing sits measures 1.310
the front of the spindle where the bearing would sit measures .750
with a spindle length of 3.875 from the rear of the spindle to the threads.

i tried to mock up 36 chevy sedan spindles, but the angle is totally wrong.
not to mention the king pin is smaller.

ive searched throu speedways identification chart, but none of which they have seems like it would work.
anyone have a clue?

much appreciated!!

:)

My suggestion would be to find another axle. Something you can work with. Something that has parts available and people know about. Like a Ford axle. Lots of parts and disc brake kits...

DEUCE...

i think i got a plan...

i got drunk lastnight and was playin around with some spare rotors i have from a 71 lemans, just so happened that if i turn down the rear bearing seat .050 i could use this conversion. 11" rotors with 4 piston calipers.
i would just have to fab up caliper brackets! mabe this week ill beable to find time to machine the spindles,.

ill let you all know how it goes!
Thanks!
Brian
