am planing a 32 build , iam new at this . what is a good steel body and frame? brookville, dearborn, etc. thanks for the help john

I can give you some good advice, do not rush your purchase. Research it thoroughly, get plenty of input and don't believe anything the manufacturer tells you.

There are several good frame manufacturers to choose from. I love the workmanship on my Roadster Shop frame for my 34. I have seen a Pete & Jakes frame and they are superb also. A friend of mine had a 32 body on order for over a year from Dearborn Deuce, finally canceled the order. That was several years ago, so I hope things have improved.

The most obvious answer to your question is Henry Ford.....
But you mention repro steel body manufacturers so.........

What kind of 32 Ford body do you want.
The only reproduction steel bodies that I know of are 3 Windows and Roadsters.



Brookville was supposed to have their 3 Window finished by now but are a little behind schedule. Dearborn Deuce had theirs up and going but are having problems too........

There are two or three repro steel roadsters out there......
Brookville is the best IMHO.......but it's NOT dead on. Close but no cigar.....

If you want something other than those........you are looking at fiberglass or finding one of Henry's. Both of mine are original Henry Ford bodies. They are out there. Just not everywhere.

I suggest finding a original car........and paying the money. When you add up all the extra stuff you have to buy with a Fiberglass car......that you get with MOST original cars.......the difference is not that large.

BUT BEWARE.... 1932's are a lot more expensive than Model A's or other vehicles from that era.....

I bought a 32 Ford 5 Window coupe for a friend......4 to 5 years ago. I gave a little over 12 grand........but I got fenders, hood, grill shell, headlights, gas tank, bumpers......all the LITTLE stuff that adds up to big $$$. Plus I sold the original interior and running gear to a restorer.......ending up at a little over 8 grand.

Had less in it than a fiberglass 32 ......

Wescott has the best fiberglass body...IMHO

Gibbon is good but 302/Z28 has had some trouble with his....

The Outlaw 32 3W body has a 34 Chevrolet back window.....and anybody can see it's a Outlaw from 40 to 50 foot ...easy

Some of the others are just plain trash......

Remember .......if it seems cheap (price)...it most likely is....
