1933 dodge 4dr to 2dr update

l went out yesterday to start getting ready for the 16'' or so that is coming out where the back doors were. got the front doors open with a lot of work. l don't think they have been opened in 20yrs. lotta spray lube and a pry bar to move the door latch back while pushing hard on the inside.
finnnillalllyyyy!!!! l evently got it to open and the hinges were like creaky and stiff.

the direction this one istaking is a retro style 60's circle track dirt car. Dad raced from 1962 to 1975 in a 1937 chevy at the local dirt track. he passed away a few years ago and l am building this as a tribute to the man who got me hooked on hot rods and racing.

the chassis is a shell valley custom made 2X4 square channel. I F S with rack & pinion steering, tubular A arms. rearend is a ford 9'' attached by a 4 link with a pan hard bar, all 4 corners get QA1 adjustable coil over shocks. four wheel disc brakes and VDO guages.

lnside the intiorer my friend will fab up a roll cage andrun it out thru the firewall and incorparate a engine cage so as he put it, ''for that old sckool vibe''

power is still a 325 hp 1969 large journal327 sbc. transmission is a built 700R4 so it gets decent fuel milage[l must be gettin' old, fuel milage!?!?]
rearend gears are 3:90's.

l have to work on this, try and finish the cushman, AND try to get the dwarf car wired and running all to take out this summer!! l hope l get done in time for car show season.

the 2 door pic is one l found one line of a 4 door to 2 door conversion, that is what the body of mine will look like before paint.

paint will be a two tone red with the #7 on the door and some sponser names on quarter panels.

Great project. You must be a young guy or have a real passion for dirt under your fingernails.

Keep the pictures coming as you go along. We're watching and dreaming with you.

Good luck.

dodge 4dr body

not so young. almost 50 yrs old, but l am retired on a disabilty so l do what l can, but it takes a lot longer than it should sometimes.
had lots of these dreams when l was working and had no time, now l have lots of time and little money.
most of the projects l have came by way of trade or free in the case of the dodge, the car was gonna be sent to the crusher, so l rescued it. told me come get it if l want.

most of the stuff l am building is using up 35+ years of pack ratting things.

gonna sell off some toys to finance the ones l need to finish.
won't post for sale stuff here, pm me and l will let you know what l am selling.

on the dodge removing 16 or 17 inches and shorting up the car. when done cutting it down from the firewall to tailend measurment is about 92 inches over all.
the window in front has about 11 inches of viewing area so l am not chopping or channeling the car, just shorting it.

Great pictures !

I suggest that you enlarge the one with all the kids and put it on the wall somewhere.

We never have enough pictures of our kids or our hobby.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
