1937 chevy coupe rear brake drums

I purchased a vehicle that was about 95% completed before owner passed away.
Previous owner had all brake parts, so I installed all the new parts and appears that the used brake drums are too narrow. Loks like the brake shoes and wheel cylinders are rubbing once lugnuts are tightened.
I measured it and appears the brake drum should be 3/8 to 7/16 wider to miss these parts. It does look like he has the correct shoes and wheel cylinders. I have looked online and some show drums without indentions and some show with.
I thought there may be someone that has run into this problem and can shed some light before spending $$$$ on new drums that may not work.

Thanks
