1937 Ford Tudor

new to forum looking for ideas if I should keep a running driving nice 1937 ford sedan with only 37,000 miles all original or street rod. If I was to keep original would it hurt value to add a/c and upgrade to hydraulic brakes?

As long as what you put on can be taken off and brought back to original...If you do add these accessories, keep all the old original parts, bagged, dated and tagged. Don't cut into the original dash, don't make new screw holes etc...so if, later you want it back to original...it still can be and would be.

I like the looks of the 37 ford cars,I wouldnt chop it or otherwise cut it up because of the low miles and the condition of the car.There are rust buckets and lesser cars that are best to cut up,Can you post pics? i would like to check it out

I agree with "greazyball" a low miler like that should be preserved...don't cut it, chop it or anything that will not allow you to bring it back...it's only original once.

I have n problem with cutting up and modifying cars..but when it come to something like that,A car that hasnt been beat on or thrashed or left out to the weather and is in very nice condition,Even I wouldnt cut it.Modify a car thats going to need darn near everything replaced anyways.American hotrodders really pissed me off with a couple of cars they did.A 65 or 66 fastback mustang was the worst example.they hacked up that stang and replaced the entire floor,front and rear..quarters etc...that car didnt need all those pieces replaced..i thought 'well ****!! if they are just going to hack everything out..then go get a stang thats rotten and rusty and really needs those pieces

There are cars that can benefit from replacing parts or chopping a roof or whatever, I see to many vehicles where someone buys an aftermarket quarter, cuts the existing quarter off at the wrong place and overlaps panels and fills the entire car in way to much filler when if done properly, the car would have retained value and lasted much longer...The vehicles that have had this type of an attempt at restoration done to them, I try and stay away from, they become more work than in many cases they are worth.

The 37 Ford that the OP is talking about should be left original...I have a 69 AMX with just over 40,000 original miles, no rust, everything is original...it has one dent about 3/4 of an inch long just below the rear bumper on the driver's side quarter...I won't even repair that...like I said, it's only original once.
