Hello Moonshiner, That doesn't look like a 38 Plymouth. I have a 38 Plymouth and the front end doesn't look like yours.

thats what the paper work says

I am not a mopar guy buy the paper work on the car says 1938 plymouth...what does the front end look like to you?

Judging by the square license plate holder on the front fender, they seem to be fiberglass....Is the grill section glass too?

moonshiner 02-18-2013 06:29 AM

only the place with the license plate goes is glass the rest is metal

38project 02-18-2013 08:04 AM

It almost looks like a 38 desoto.

MARTINSR 02-18-2013 09:00 AM

37 Chrysler.

But if googling 1937 Chrysler you also get this.

I have to say the front and

E
end does look like it came of a desoto but the paperwork says Plymouth

MARTINSR 02-18-2013 10:33 AM

Yeah the 38 Desoto has that little grille below too.

But the one I orginally posted listed on the site I sole the picture as a 37 Chyrsler is wrong but what exactly is it, because that IS the exact grille shell in your car.

It too has that little grille below the grille, interesting.

Your car could simply be a 37 Plymouth with a Desoto grille or it could be a Desoto with a Plymouth title. Is there a vin tag on the car or stamped number that matches the title?

There are no numbers on the car anywhere....I'm not sure the front end wasn't changed at some point. My headlights are on the fender not on the Radiator support. I am really interested in the correct Identification for this car.....the local sheriffs office said when it is complete they will assign numbers to it and for not to tag it with serial number on the registration since the original numbers are gone.
