1939 olds vin#
I have a 39 olds series 60 . I have to apply for a title in the state of MN. I would like to know what they use for the vin #, would they use the style# or the body# if not were would it be located. Thanks

I have a '39 Olds that has been in the family for 40 years. The VIN on the Tennessee title is shown as F675785. There was a metal tag revetted to the frame by the front suspension with this number also.
We cut the front end off a few years ago, but saved the metal tag. John |

The metal tag by the steering gear is subject to being eaten up by the acid from the battery box located next to it.
There is another one stamped in the left frame rail directly over the rear axle on the top flange of the frame. It takes a wire brush good eyes and some times a magnifier to see it good luck Mark |
