1940 Chevy Coupe Engine Swap

What does it take to drop a 350 CSB/350 trans into a 1940 Chevy Coupe? What types of engine/transmissions mounts are recommended, crossmembers if needed? Parts sources? Not looking for fancy just functional. Any help greatly appreciated.

I would go with what you see in the picture that Deuce posted. Myself I made my own. Thats up to you. For the trans I used a stock Camaro mount from around 1980. I just welded a tab with a hole in it to the rear side of the cross-member. IM sure you know that you will need to cut the tunnel and fab a new one to get the bell of the tranny under the firewall.

1940 Chevy Coupe Engine Swap

Thanks for the help guys!

Kind of new to this. Is there a need for a cross member or only if I go to an IFS system? I'm looking to do the engine swap first and maybe down the road, as funds become available, upgrade the suspension. Is this approach feasible?

Your lucky on the 40 because the stock crossmember bolts in. When I first started mine I left the stock suspension for a few years. I hated it, but I was able to drive it. Not far. My arms would get sore. I then added a crossmember with a mustang 2 suspension. I bought a crossmember and welded mine in. Ta do this I pulled everything from the F-wall forward. Not long after I found a place that sold a crossmember that would bolt in place of the old one. That would have saved alot of extra work. I think it was from Fatman, but I would have to look it up to make sure.
