1940 Ford Sedan Interior - Material Type/Quantity

I was curious if someone could give me an idea how many yards I would need to do an entire 40 Ford Fordor Sedan. I was planning on doing the entire car including two bucket seats, a bench seat, headliner, door panels, trunk, kick panels, center console, etc. Any help would be appreciated. I was planning on using ultraleather which comes in 54" widths.

Also are there any other suggestions on the best places to buy ultraleather or if there are any cheaper alternatives that are comparable in quality. The best price I have found so far has been around $25/yard for ultraleather brand.

$25 is a bargain for Ultraleather brand fabric. A car interior like yours will take about 25 yards of fabric in one color. 8 yards for headliner, 3 1/2 yards for front seat, 3 yards for rear seat, 3 1/2 yards for door panels, 3 yards for the trunk. Package shelf and kick panels about 1 1/2 yards. Then you 'll need the balance for windlace around the doors, the console, and if you want to cover the window moldings with the Ultraleather.

It is always better to have more than you need than less than you need, especially if the fabric is a closeout and can't be replaced. If you do the seats and door panels with a couple different colors, it can save you some yardage.

No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.
