Anyone ever notice the 41 Chevy hood ornament looks like a streamliner locomotive of that era......Wicked Cool!!!

I have to agree! I love hood ornaments, and the artsy factor they bring to the cars of the past. :-)

Nice addition. I did an HHR a while back that received an airbrushed hood emblem and bull nose trim, from the early trucks that inspired the HHR. The same thing you accomplished a little better with your ornament.

I also like the chevy emblems you added elsewhere on the truck. I have a set of extra 409 emblems in the tool box, that may end up on a car someday. :-)

If I ever have any problems being able to paint... I have a fall back plan, and one of my thoughts was to do hood ornaments for rods. :-)

Nice job on the emblem, real nice......but hate the grill to be honest

The owner found it somewhere. I just sprayed it for him.

You do an awesome job man!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm just enjoying getting to help people with the stuff we all love. :-) It's better than a paycheck!

You would love Arizona cars! I have done a couple cars with Florida history lately. A '70 440 Charger that got the floors and much of the outer body replaced.... and an AMX I am doing now that only needed a few patch panels. They remind me of the Chicago area cars I used to see when they used salt on the roads! {:-(

That coupe of your looks very promising! What color do you have in mind?

I'd luv to get out west sometime, the wife went to Vegas once but the furthest west i've been is swimming in the Gulf ;)

Yeah I know they are rust-free out there, Florida is humid but we don't usually have bad rot. Probably your cars were brought to Fl. from up north, like most of the people here.

Someday maybe I can help on here too, but for now all I can do is post interesting pics and add to my journal, i'm sure someone will find the pics useful down the road.

Thanks Man......current HHR orange, I believe that's what they painted the hood and it looks wicked sharp, plus its my gal's fav color!.....I did get all the chrome with her and that orange is great with chrome.

How u like my HHR stripes?.....I designed them myself and had a guy make em up, now I sell em on ebay for $29.99

I have heard that cars located near the ocean, and get salt that is left on the roads from salt-spray, are the worst! On that Charger, the frame and underside literally looked like cottage cheeze!!! :-(

That orange should look great on there. Orange falls into a class called "excitement colors". :-) Also, metallics tend to look "richer" than solids.

Are those stripes the white ones I see on your rocker panels?

Naaa, salt spray isn't much of a factor.....cars or trucks that launch boats in the ocean is a dif. story......the rust up north comes from a sand/salt mix they spread on the roads with dump trucks carrying bighoppers, hilly areas are the worse cuz they need alot more.....sux too cuz the leftover gravel will crack windshields......poor bastids up north will be dealing with that all too soon, huh guys.....i'll take the heat & humidity of Florida summers anyday, as opposed to the fridgid northern winters.....only thing I miss is snowsleds, hard to beat skimming over 3 ft of snow @ 50mph or better!.....and hunting, I do miss the nice crisp fall hunt.....fishins better here tho, check out the 9 pounder, 24" largey baby!!!

I have friends and relatives in Florida, and they are pretty happy there after growing up in Illinois. Growing up in the Midwest for most of my first 27 years, I also miss the seasons... especially Fall.

Here in Tucson, it is more like 8 months of Spring, and then for the next four months you do things in the evening. The heat sounds scarey, but after living here for over 35 years, I can tell you that 115-120 with 5%-20% humidity, is far better than 90 degrees and 90%!!! {:-(

At least I can say... no hurricanes, ice storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, blizzards, tsunamis or the other things that people have to live with.... just the heat, and some heavy seasonal rain. (Makes killer sunsets!) :-)

The only fishing in the southern Arizona is in stocked lakes. Hunting is pretty popular for the younger guys, and here it's done mostly in the mountains and high country, for bigger game. One of my sons is heavily involved.

Now that I've given my "Southwestern sales pitch" I'll say that real happiness comes from inside, and if you have that, you will be happy most anywhere. :-)

I would probably like living near a beach most anywhere. Right now I am doing a "wall-art" surfboard, to sell later. It's mine, so I get to chose the art. It's gold flake with the paint curling back to expose a beach scene, with Palms, surf, people, cars, etc. etc. Kind of a fantasy for me. We have lots of "beach"... just no water. {:-)

41SUPERCOUPE 09-25-2011 06:03 PM

sales pitch....lol.....no hurricanes is a bonus!.....and ur right about happiness :)

Yeah lots of folks in this area from Illinois, Ohio & Michigan, we are near the beach but hardly ever go anymore....yeah I know :spank:
