Hi,
I'm new at this so please bare with me. Knowing nothing about old cars or street rods, I purchased a 1946 Ford Coupe that has been modified. It's an absolutely gorgeous car inside and out. How do I store it...what needs to be done? Is it worth more than the $2,000 price tag.
well, $2000.00, it depends on what the car looks like and what's been done to it. If you really want an expert opinion then get an appraisal. Depending on your insurance company, you may need an appraisal anyway and they are good things to have. Otherwise, if you feel comfortable spending $2000 for that car then don't worry about it.
also, where are you storing your car? When i store my car i usually put it up on stands to save the tires from getting flat spots. Also i fill the gas tank to prevent rust - also put in fuel stabilizer. i pull the plugs and drop some oil down the cylinders to keep the rings well oiled. I also remove my battery and store it inside to keep it warm. And i always keep the car covered. Get a good car cover to keep the dust off your car, and one that will breath. Buy the best one that you can afford, there is a lot of difference between them. Also i usually crack the windows about an inch or so to allow some air movement to keep the interior from getting musty.
Take care,
JB
