1947-1949 international pickup VIN question
Hey everyone. i just purchased an International KB-1 pickup in the year ranges of a '47 to a '49 and i'm not sure how to determine it exactly so if anyone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it!
The metal information plate on the firewall reads as follows:
Model - KB1
Wheel base - 113
chassis number - 63378
model - GRD214
serial number - 171700
Cert. net horsepower - 73 @ 3200rpm
max vehicle weight - 4400
The small metal plate just inside the drivers door beside the clutch pedal reads as follows:
Model - HF243984
KB-1 VIn question
I have a 1949 KB-1 and the serial # is 139371 and the chassis # is 93619, so I suspect that mine is newer than yours.
KB-1 VIN Number
Under IHC archives they list the first number for KB-1 for January 1, 1947 is 49309, January 1, 1948 is 70793, January 1, 1949 is 93352. So that makes yours a 1947
the serial number is what you will use to get a title...VIN's didn't come into use until 1969.
