1947 Ford fenders and hood

Does anyone make a fiberglass hood for a 1947 Ford car? ,or a complete fiberglass tilt front end? thank you, Greg

No, and I looked for the better part of 5 years. I had bought all four 'glass fenders & the nose pieces from "Fairlane Fiberglass" (who's now out of business). Fenders are, however, still available elsewhere. Never found a source for the hood or deck-lid, but eventually found a homemade deck-lid on E-Bay that was passable..

Nobady makes a hood for these cars for this reason..

Ford Motor Company couldn't get these hoods to fit correctly when new..

If your hood fits bad. Thats your problem.. If a manufacturer makes a hood. It becomes his problem.. A problem that has no reasonable (inexpensive) solution for the manufacturer.. As stated before Ford couldn't make them fit.. The Fairlane product guy told me this one day while I was buying some fender and dash seconds from their manufacturing shop. I was looking for a hood also..

Finally a logical explanation. These hoods are made in 3 major pieces - before I sold the car, my plan was to weld it up, get rid of the center strip, smooth it, and make a mold...
