There's a lot more to it than wheel base and track (the track is wider than the original and one of the problems I have with these sub frame clips) but also was it welded to the frame properly, at the right height, at the right angle so it will align?

Why would he be selling it?

I agree with Brian.... unless you are having a chassis built, it is hard to beat an original frame with it "spruced up" with a new aftermarket IFS or a correctly installed subframe.

I also agree with him in the fact that the new chassis you found sounds liked a wicked good deal and you should jump on it ... perfect for what you are doing... however... you will want to go over that thing with a fine tooth comb. Most of the time you find those for sale is because someone screwed up the subframe install and its out to lunch... then you are essentially cutting it out and starting from scratch anyway so then you just find you a clean unmolested frame and crossmember instead of someones abortion.

I got it from a friend of my father inlaw he do very good restoring he did the frame for a 47 chevy but he will never get to finish it he have sold all his cars and my father inlaw ask him about a frame and he said he had one in his yard I gave him the money for it but he did not charge me he is dying from cancer at home on hospice that's why he gave it to me Brian
