Ok, I guess I worded that in a way that ended up being a dumb question. haha. I know that the 9" will withstand the flathead and the three-on-the-tree transmission, what I am concerned about is wanting more out of my car once it is on the road. I've never driven the car with the original setup, so I am not sure what the top speed will be on the highways, or how well it will climb the hills. I am definitely keeping the flathead, I am looking for some insight on the stock transmission and if I should just update to the T-5 now. I am NOT looking for fuel economy or I would be driving a Fiesta! I have the IFS and the rearend, so I don't want to be stuck with a car that has a top speed of 50 MPH.
