BLACK Most competent spring shops can de-arch your springs and lower the truck. I suggest that route. You remove the spring pack and they change the arch of the springs. If you are industrious, you can just remove a few of the leafs and accomplish the same thing but the load carrying capacity will be reduced ( but the ride quality improved ). Also, there are places who drop axles ... they take your front axle, heat it and stretch it ... while maintaining the proper caster . I had this done to both a 49 F-1 ( not as nice as yours but much quicker SBC/4 speed ) and a 56 F-100 big window.
