195 PSI 10.3 to 1 compression on street fuel
Hey! what are your thoughts on running a motor on pump super with 195 psi compression and 10.3 to 1 ratio?
|
depends what engine and heads and load. what engine are you talking about? What car? do you plan to pull a trailer? what gear and trans?
If it is a 454 with stock iron heads then I would say no. if it is a 350 with flat tops and vortec iron or aluminum heads then I would say, no problem with 93 octane. If it is a 1100cc honda then it would be ok too. some of things that effect octane requirement are flame speed, piston diameter, head material, head chamber design, and others....... 10.3:1 cr with 195psi of cranking pressure means the cam is fairly mild. would require 93 octane in most cases. |
If its a dohc pent roof chamber then you could probably run 87 octane as a lot of oem's recomend that.
Need more details. |
