1950 ford truck

i have a 50 ford truck that im restoring. i want to put power steering, disc brakes, etc... someone told me that i could use a chevy s-10 frame. i tried it,but it is too small for the ford body. does anyone know what kind of newer frame i could put under it?

76 Nova............the front clip unbolts from the unibody. You then cut the truck frame to match the clip and weld it together.

Caution.....measure, measure, measure, before cutting anything.

Camaro clips are basiclly the same.

Front clip

Try using the front end outta 80 something chevy van . I am told that the whole thing , steering box included will unbolt. I think all is needed is some
shims on the side of the frame rails to take up some of the slack, I don't think boxing the frame rails was needed . I haven't had a chance to further investigate.so proceed with caution. you may also have your rear bolt pattern re-drilled to match, and the tilt column (van) would also be a simple mod . anything that bolts right in I'm all for ,rather than cutting up the frame. Ijust thought I would toss that out there for another option . Good luck. I also have a 50 ford pick-up but was going to go the volare swap (already have) and am currently looking for some templates so trimming of the frame would be close to bang-on. but if you find that the van swap will work please let me know. Thanks ,BLUE-BLOOD
